STRONGER PRACTICE HUB

Emotion Coaching

Key Elements  are involved in Emotion Coaching:

  • Becoming aware of the child's emotions
  • Recognising the emotion as an opportunity for intimacy and teaching
  • Listening empathetically, validating the child's feelings
  • Helping the child find words to label the emotion
  • Setting limits and explore strategies to solve the problem at hand

Emotion Coaching supports children and young people to better understand and manage their emotions, building resilience, well-being, and stronger relationships.

The two full-day Core Training is suitable for all early years educators across West and South Yorkshire. It includes two 90-minute reflective practice sessions, held several weeks after the training.

We have currently recruited two cohorts for the February 2026 and March 2026 training sessions. Please register your interest here to join the waiting list. We will contact you if places become available for these or future sessions.
