This session is designed specifically for childminders to explore the "why" and "how" of pattern-making. You’ll leave with a fresh pair of "pattern-eyes" and a toolkit of simple, low-cost ideas to spark "Aha!" moments into your daily routine.

This session will unpack the latest guidance on effective leadership, quality provision, and evidence-informed practice. Leaders will gain practical insights into how the toolkit can be used to support self-evaluation, improvement planning, and staff development.

Through interactive discussion and case examples, we will explore how to interpret inspection frameworks, link evidence to practice, and strengthen your setting’s readiness for inspection while enhancing everyday quality for children.

This session offers a unique opportunity to ask questions directly of an Ofsted expert, reflect on your leadership approach, and identify actions that make a real difference in outcomes for children, staff, and families.

Join our Specialist Learning Network led by Shannon Sulston from Co-op Academy Delius, a Special school in Bradford.

The Community of Practice will bring together Early Years educators from across our region (West and South Yorkshire) and across the sector (Childminders, PVIs, Schools).

Shannon will provide the expertise, whilst you, as like minded practitioners will support one another; sharing the challenges and successes of the journey, developing practice across settings and really making a difference to young children's lives.

During the community of practice we will be looking at the curriculum and assessment frameworks at Delius, talking through good practice and ideas for lessons and activities and how we implement continuous provision across school.

This session will focus on 2026 – the Year of Reading in the UK – and explore what it means for children under two.

We’ll look at practical ways to nurture early literacy, share ideas for fun, engaging reading activities, and highlight how parents and caregivers can make reading a joyful part of everyday life from the very start.

During this visitor session, there will be a 30 minute brief overview of Delius' curriculum and assessment.

We will discuss the communication strategies, behaviour strategies and areas of provision that work well in our setting. We will additionally try and cater some of the session if there is a particular focus you want, and opportunities for questions.

This will follow with a tour of our EYFS classes and the rest of the school provision.
